No. 016 - Copper Sculpture
A heavy, found object made of 42 steel wires wrapped in copper, each of a different gauge, and each 48 inches (122 cm) long. The elements are bound together with a 25 gauge copper wire. They could be strung side by side as a curtain, or as a singular object. The aesthetic is industrial and organic, with unintentional tribal vibes. It is heavy and substantial.
It’s unknown if the 42 individual elements have a function or if they were intended to be decorative. An investigation is ongoing. If you have any ideas please email ruhl@ruhl.nyc
