Champagne Cocktail

The Champagne Cocktail is a celebratory drink made by soaking a sugar cube in bitters in a fluted glass with Champagne, a splash of brandy, and garnished with a lemon twist. The sugar cube creates an effervescent effect as it dissolves, adding sweetness, sparkle, and complexity.

INGREDIENTS -
Per serving
1 sugar cube
1 teaspoon of Bitters (about 10 dashes)
4 ounces chilled Champagne
1 ounce chilled Brandy
A handful of pomegranate arils
Lemon twist
TOOLS -
Fluted glass
Paring knife
Shot glass
PREPERATION -
Place a sugar cube in a fluted glass
Douse with bitters
Add a shot of Brandy
Gently pour chilled Champagne over the cube
Generously fill with pomegranate arils
Garnish with a lemon twist
NOTES -
Bitters add depth, complexity, and balance sweetness, if Pomegranate Bitters are not available, orange bitters are great too
Pomegranate arils add crunch, color, and flavor, but optional
